2025-2026 Important Dates

NOVEMBER 8, 2025 - Application period is open! Applications will be available Here and can be submitted online. 

JANUARY 24, 2026 - School Saturday Open House at each HPA School.

MARCH 1, 2026 - Submit ONE application on/before this date in order to be eligible for the lotteries of up to 16 peer charter schools.  Simply select "Hogan Preparatory Academy" as well as any other school(s) you may be considering.

MARCH 4, 2026 - HPA Lottery Date

MARCH 9, 2026 - You will receive either 1) an offer or 2) a waitlist confirmation from each school you applied to, including Hogan Prep.

MARCH 16, 2026 - Select ONE offer to accept.  All other offers at other schools will be automatically declined (all waitlist positions will be held though) and the registration process with your selected school will begin.

MARCH 1, 2026 & AFTER  - You may apply on a first-come-first-serve basis for any seats still available OR apply to be added to our waitlist. 

Note: Assistance completing online applications is available at the school during school hours. Paper applications will also be available. 

The open application period for the 2026–27 school year will begin on November 8, 2025 and conclude on March 1, 2026. Applications received after the open application period closes will be placed at the end of the waiting list.

You may use a mobile device or computer to log in and get started by following the steps below:
 
RETURNING HPA Family

Go to hoganprep.schoolmint.net to login

Your username will be either your email address OR mobile number.

Forgot password link is available.

New HPA Family

Go to https://schoolappkc.org/ to complete the information in Avela.

Once complete, you will be sent a link to register at hoganprep.schoolmint.net/signup.

Use either your email address OR mobile phone number as your username, then set a password of your choosing.

 

Step 2: Complete Registration

Follow the steps in Schoolmint to complete your registration.
 
You will also be able to upload registration documents in the system.

SchoolAppKC provides a single 8 question form that can be filled out using your computer, cell phone or other device. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete, allowing you to select and apply to multiple schools at once.
